Just had the weirdest return at the Target in Springfield

Tried to bring back a broken lamp. The employee took one look, said 'yep, that's broken', and gave me cash without a receipt. Whole thing took maybe 90 seconds. Has anyone else had a return go that smooth?

Without a receipt" is the wild part. Did they just hand you cash from the register? That policy seems way too loose for a big store. Makes you wonder what their system is actually like.

I just showed them my bank statement and they took it back.

Wait, you think they actually have a system? I bet it's just some manager's word-of-mouth rule they made up on the spot. That's how you end up with totally different answers depending on who's working.
