Heads up about the new customer service at Greenleaf Hardware

I've been going to Greenleaf in my town for years, and their service used to be top-notch. Last Tuesday, I went in for a specific sprinkler valve, and the new kid at the counter just shrugged and said 'check the aisle' without even looking up from his phone. Six months ago, the old manager, Dave, would have walked me right to it and known the part number. The whole vibe is different now, like they don't care. Has anyone else noticed this kind of drop-off at a local spot you relied on?

Dave was great, but he retired to Florida last fall. The new manager is his nephew, who mostly handles the back office stuff. The kid on the phone is probably a seasonal hire for the summer rush. It might be worth asking for the manager next time, the older staff in the plumbing section still know their stuff.
