Mine just did that too, now I owe them fictional referee fees.

Arguments can reveal a ton if you let them simmer. My characters had a big fight last week that exposed a hidden fear, and it actually pushed the plot into the next chapter. Sometimes the tension itself becomes the point, not just getting to a resolution.
