Rant: most 'write every day' advice is garbage and a 1957 study proves it
My writing group keeps pushing the write 500 words daily rule, but I dug up a study from 1957 where researchers tracked 40 working writers and found the ones who waited for ideas finished more pieces than the daily grinders. The forced-daily folks burned out or padded pages with junk nobody wanted to read. Has anyone here actually gotten better from the streak, or did you just get better at filling a page?
