The retired operator in Amarillo who made me walk the whole boom before every shift
He grabbed my shoulder at the yard in Amarillo and said "Son, if you can't walk the length of that boom without finding one thing wrong, you ain't looking." I've found a cracked weld, two loose pins, and a frayed cable since I started doing his 5 minute walk, and I want to know if your shop makes you do a full pre-shift inspection or just a quick glance?.
