DAE change their mind on load charts after that class in Houston?
I used to think the load chart was just something the office wanted me to glance at. Figured if the boom felt fine and the outriggers were set, I was good. Then I took a recert class in Houston last month and the instructor had us run a 40 ton pick with the boom at 60 feet, and the chart was screaming at us that we were 800 lbs over. Felt totally fine. That scared me more than anything. Now I keep the chart on my phone and check it twice before any pick over 60 percent. Anybody else go from chart-skeptic to chart-nut after a close call?
