Why does nobody talk about trimming bangs with kitchen scissors?

A client once begged me to fix her DIY bang disaster done with craft shears, and it turned out surprisingly neat. I now think a sharp pair of kitchen scissors can work in a pinch if you know what you're doing. Has anyone else had a weird tool save the day?

Used a box cutter to trim my brother's beard once.

Last summer, my buddy tried shaping his goatee with a craft knife. Bad idea. @joel_wilson, box cutter blades are for cardboard, not faces. They slip easy and cut deep. Proper trimmers cost like twenty bucks and won't slice you. Using tools wrong is just reckless.

Reading anna_flores96's point about recklessness, I used to be totally against using any non-hair tools. But that story about the kitchen scissors saving the day actually changed my mind on it. I guess sometimes the right technique matters more than having the perfect equipment.
