That client who kept flipping the color chart and rolling her eyes at me

Had a walk-in last Thursday who handed me a photo of platinum blonde and then said 'but don't bleach it too much.' When I explained the process she cut me off and told me her cousin could do it for half the price. I just nodded and pointed her to the door - has anyone else had people think they know your job better than you do?

The cousin thing is always funny because they act like it's a secret weapon or something. Your cousin probably isn't paying for a real cosmetology license or insurance either. You did the right thing letting her walk out, that kind of attitude NEVER ends well for anyone.

Does this client not realize that if her cousin could actually do it well for half the price she wouldn't be standing in your salon in the first place? I had a lady once argue with me for ten minutes about how she could just use a box dye from the drug store (she could not, her hair was practically melting off last time she tried). People get so defensive about their hair that they forget we literally went to school for this stuff.
