Muddy job site made me switch to a GPS total station over lunch
We were staking out footings on a muddy lot outside Raleigh last Tuesday and the transit kept sinking into the muck, losing our reference points twice. My foreman pulled out this old GPS rover from the truck that we only used for roads, and we got the whole layout done in 90 minutes without resetting anything. Has anyone else used a borrowed unit from another crew when their main gear keeps failing on soft ground?
