Getting a thumbs up from the concrete crew for my layout app

We were setting foundations for a small strip mall, and the usual string lines were getting messed up in the wind. I had been testing this simple layout app on my tablet for a few weeks, mostly on my own. Yesterday, I was brave enough to show the lead concrete guy, Mike, how it could plot the corners digitally. He grumbled a bit but let me set up one section. When his crew came to pour, everything lined up perfectly on the first try. Mike walked over, didn't say much, but gave me a solid thumbs up and told the others to check the tablet for the next bay. It's a tiny thing, but seeing that gruff team trust a bit of new tech felt really good. Makes all the tinkering feel worth it.

Getting a nod from the old crew for new tools is the real win. Had a similar moment when our foreman finally stopped carrying paper plans after my tablet saved us from a huge rework.

Ok, a thumbs up from Mike isn't that serious. Layout apps are common now, and wind problems with string lines are basic. Perfect alignment is just what should happen with any good tool. Making a big deal out of normal work.
