Found out FEMA keeps a public map of every nuke plant's emergency zone and nobody I know has ever looked at it
Last Tuesday I was digging through FEMA's public site for storm stuff and stumbled onto a whole page listing the 10-mile emergency planning zone for every reactor in the country, including the one 30 miles from my place. My town sits just outside the 10-mile ring, but the plume map they published shows the wind usually pushes stuff northeast, right over us. Am I the only one who thinks this should be on a billboard somewhere instead of buried on some gov page nobody visits?
30 miles and the wind blows it right at you? That's wild. People freak out over way smaller stuff and this is just sitting out there on a dot gov page nobody clicks.
