I swore by a wood float on broom finish for 6 years, then a guy half my age changed my mind in one pour
I always figured a magnesium float left too many swirl marks for a clean broom finish, so I stuck with wood on every driveway I did around Fort Worth. Then last Tuesday a 24 year old kid on my crew ran magnesium on a 30 by 40 slab and the broom lines came out straighter than mine, with zero tearing at the edges. Anybody else flipped on a finish tool after watching someone newer do it better?
