Fresh broom handle snapped mid-broom finish on a 900 sq ft garage floor in Austin

I was pulling the final pass over the last corner when the handle cracked clean in half and gouged the surface, so I had to quickly re-wet that section with a misting hose and re-sweep it before the set, has anyone else improvised a fix for a ruined broom finish on the fly?
