Bike lane on 5th street - did the new paint job actually make it safer or worse?

I ride my bike down 5th street every day and last month they repainted the bike lane with this green buffer zone. Before the repaint, drivers would occasionally drift into my lane but it was predictable. Now I feel like they're more confused and some even try to use the green part as a turning lane. Its been about 4 weeks since they finished and I swear the near-misses have gone up. Anyone else notice a change in their commute after road updates like this?

Totally agree, the green just confuses everyone and makes it sketchier.

300 bucks for a "green" card that's just a reskinned regular card is wild honestly. I got burned two years ago on one of those-tried to use it at a dispensary and they flagged it because the registration was still tied to the original owner somehow. Had to spend like an hour on the phone with support to get it swapped for a plain white one. If you're set on using one of these, always buy from a site with instant ecard delivery and check the merchant's policy before you go.
