The day I stopped trusting rusty bolts on my own gear
Two years back I was doing a dock inspection in Sarnia when the bolts on my hard hat light mount snapped off about 20 feet down. That light was the only thing between me and a dark corner of the hull, and I had to finish the job by feel. Turns out those bolts had been rusting for months and I never checked them because they were out of sight. Now I swap out every fastener on my rig every 90 days no matter how good they look. How often do you guys go through your gear bolts, or am I overdoing it?
