Killing time at the shop turned into a legit collecting lesson
Honestly, I was just killing time between deliveries at the comic store. Tbh, I overheard the owner explaining how to check for restoration on old books. Ngl, I tried it on a beat-up issue I had, and it totally worked. Now I feel way more confident when I'm hunting for deals.

but like, is it really worth stressing over restoration that much? Unless you're dropping serious cash on a key issue, who even cares. I found what I thought was a restored copy of some random 90s X-Men book once, but it was still just a $5 book either way. Feels like people make this hobby way more complicated than it needs to be sometimes.

Wait, you're telling me we're not supposed to treat every comic like it's Action Comics #1? @rowan276 I guess some of us just enjoy the drama of possibly owning a "fraudulent" $5 book.
