Pro tip: I looked up how many Colorado small businesses actually get bought out each year and the number floored me
I was poking around the Colorado Secretary of State site on a Tuesday night, just killing time, and stumbled on their annual business filing stats. Turns out only a tiny slice of the LLCs registered here ever get acquired or sold to someone else, like most just quietly close up when the owner retires. I run a 6 person shop in Aurora and always figured I'd sell it someday to fund my retirement, but seeing that stat made me rethink my whole exit plan. Anyone else here actually sold a small Colorado business, or are you all just planning to ride it till the wheels fall off?
