Serious question, is a metal filter really better than paper in a French press?
I ran out of paper filters for my French press a couple months back and grabbed a metal one from the store just to get by. I figured I'd switch back once I restocked, but the metal filter gave me a way fuller cup with all the oils still in it, and honestly I stopped missing the paper version after about a week. Cleanup takes maybe 30 extra seconds since I have to rinse the grit out, but the taste is worth it to me. Anyone else made this switch and stuck with it, or did the sludge at the bottom bug you too much?
