My drip coffee was fine for 4 years until I checked the water temp with a $9 thermometer
I have been making drip coffee the same way since 2020. Same machine, same cheap pre-ground stuff from the store. Then a buddy handed me a $9 kitchen thermometer last month and told me to check the water coming out of the shower head. It was 168 degrees. Way too cold for coffee. I ran it through a few more times and it never got past 175. So I started boiling water in a kettle first, letting it sit 30 seconds, then pouring it through the basket by hand. Night and day. Same beans, same scoop, just hotter water making a full cup instead of brown tea. Has anyone else had a machine that runs cold like that, and did you fix it or just switch to pour over for good?
