Rant: Picked a free online course over a paid bootcamp - regret it now
I spent 3 months doing a free Python course on YouTube instead of dropping $500 on a local bootcamp in Austin. Got through the basics fine but now I'm stuck on debugging a real project with no one to ask. Anyone else cheap out on learning and wish they'd paid for structured help?

my buddy tara did the exact same thing with a free javascript course on youtube. she spent like 4 months on it and then couldn't figure out why her todo app kept crashing in chrome. she ended up paying $250 for a weekend crash course at a community college just to get live help from a real person. saved a little money but wasted way more time than she saved.

Read an article recently that said something like 90% of people who start self teaching never finish or end up hitting a wall like your friend. The problem with YouTube tutorials is they skip over ALL the debugging stuff that takes up like 70% of the actual coding work. Your buddy probably watched videos where everything worked perfect first try and then panicked when her code broke. I swear those free courses never teach you how to read an error message or actually google a problem the right way.
