Watched a guy scrap a $3,000 part in Boise because he trusted the readout over the edge finder
Two years back I was running a Haas VF-2 at a job in Boise. Guy on the next machine picked up his WCS off the vise jaw instead of the stock. He never touched it off, just punched in the numbers from the screen. First op cut .060 deep into the fixture plate and the part was junk. Boss didn't yell, just pulled the ticket and walked off. I check my edge finder twice now no matter how simple the setup looks. Anyone else got a story where a shortcut cost more than the few minutes it would've saved?
