Hit 10,000 parts on my insert without a flip, still shocked
Ran a 6061 job for a local shop in Akron and my CNMG insert just crossed 10,000 parts. I usually swap inserts around 3,500 to be safe, but this one kept cutting clean and holding tolerance at plus or minus half a thou. The speeds were moderate at 650 SFM with coolant, so maybe that helped. Has anyone else pushed an insert way past the norm and gotten lucky, or did I just get a freak batch?
