Couldn't decide between chasing faster cycle times or better surface finish on a 300 part run, and the choice worked out
Last week I had a run of 300 aluminum brackets on the Haas and I had to pick between two speeds and feeds setups. Option one was aggressive, cycle time down around 4 minutes but the finish came out a little streaky on the side walls. Option two was slower at 6 minutes and change, but the parts came off looking like they were polished. I went with the slower one because the customer is picky about finish and I have been burned before. Ended up zero rejects on the whole run, which almost never happens for me. Anyone else ever trade cycle time for finish and feel good about it?
