Took me 14 months to get one rain barrel hooked up right

Bought a 55 gallon barrel off a guy in Toledo back in spring of last year, thinking I'd have it feeding my garden beds by June. The first diverter leaked, the second one froze and cracked, and I went through three different hose setups before a neighbor showed me the overflow needed a real air gap. Finally got it running last month, and now I'm trying to add a second one. Anyone got a diverter that actually survives a real winter?
