Rant: my town's new "compost program" pickup is just yard waste, and half my neighbors think banana peels count as leaves
I sat through a 90 minute city meeting in Fort Collins last month where the waste guy said the green bins only take grass, leaves, and branches, yet I've now watched 3 different neighbors toss coffee grounds and pizza boxes in there like it's a magic garbage hole. The truck dumps everything at the same yard waste site, so all that food scrap just gets screened out and landfilled anyway, which means the program's claimed 12 percent waste cut is basically a rounding error. How do you actually get neighbors to read the lid sticker when the lid sticker is 4 point font and buried under a QR code?
