That old Lite-Brite from 1989 still outshines the digital knockoff

Found my mom's original Lite-Brite in the attic last Saturday while looking for holiday decorations. The bulbs were all there, and I spent a good 20 minutes doing the flower pattern from the booklet. I also bought one of those new electronic versions with the light-up screen and app for my niece last year, you know the fancy one. The old one just feels better somehow, the plastic pegs click in with that satisfying snap and you can actually move them around without losing your spot. The new one has smooth modes and changing colors, but it goes so fast that the fun is over in like 5 minutes. Maybe it's just nostalgia talking, but I'd take the cardboard and the heat of those bulbs over a rechargeable battery any day. Does anyone else find the old simple toys hold up better, or am I just stuck in 1990?
