Rant: I called my nephew's spinning top junk, then he proved me wrong in my own driveway
My nephew brought over a cheap spinning top last month and I told him it was junk compared to the metal one I had as a kid, because that one could spin for almost two minutes. He just shrugged, wound it up, and got it going for 45 seconds on my uneven driveway while I stood there with my mouth shut. Then he showed me you can snap two of them together and battle, and that part is honestly more fun than anything my old top did. I was wrong about the toy, it is not the top's fault it is made of plastic. Anyone else have a kid show them up on a toy they had written off?
My buddy's kid had a plastic yoyo that he swore was trash, and the kid hit him with a trick that his old wooden one couldn't even do. Kids find a way to make cheap stuff fun, and it kinda stings to watch.
