I got yelled at for letting a guy with 3 items cut me in line at Kroger and I'd do it again
So last Tuesday at the Kroger on Lamar I had a full cart, 47 items, and this older guy behind me had just a rotisserie chicken and a loaf of bread. I waved him ahead and the woman behind HIM started huffing and said I was rewarding line cutters and making the wait worse for everyone. Here's my thing: he was in and out in like 40 seconds, which saved the rest of us more time than it cost. I get the whole fairness argument, I really do, but a full cart is 5 minutes of scanning minimum and his 2 items were basically free. She glared at me the whole time I was bagging and I just smiled back. Am I wrong for thinking a tiny act of line mercy doesn't break the whole system, or is she right that it just teaches people to cut?
