My buddy swore by the gas station tacos on 3rd Street, I called him crazy for 2 years
So my coworker Dave has been telling me for two years straight that the best cheap eats in town are at the corner gas station on 3rd, not at any restaurant. I kept laughing him off. Figured he was just being cheap. Finally tried them last week out of desperation. $3.50 for three legit tacos with fresh salsa. Now I gotta eat my words. Has anyone else been burned by ignoring a recommendation from someone you thought was just messing around?

You had me at "gas station tacos" but three tacos for $3.50 sounds more like $1.17 each.

Well, I mean, I've actually had those gas station tacos down near the intersection of San Fernando and Broadway, and they're definitely worth more than $1.17 each. The lady who runs the spot makes fresh tortillas right there, and the al pastor is legit marinated overnight. Idk, maybe it's just me but I'd pay extra for that kind of quality at a gas station of all places.
