That $230 snake camera paid for itself in one drain cleanout

I used to think those inspection cameras were for plumbers and wannabe home inspectors. My bathroom sink drained slow for weeks. Called a guy, he quoted $180 just to look and maybe snake it. Nope. Bought a cheap snake camera on sale for $230 and ran it down the vent pipe myself. Found a chunk of soap bar and a kid's toy car stuck at the bend. Pulled both out with a wire hook I made from a coat hanger. No more leak, no more slow drain. My neighbor saw it and asked to borrow it for his tub. That thing already got used three times by other people on my street. Anyone else bought a rental tool once and never looked back?
