Heard a guy at Home Depot say he butters toast before the toaster pops, and now I can't stop thinking about it
I was standing in line at the Home Depot on Saturday getting a replacement blade for my miter saw when I heard two guys behind me going back and forth about toast. One of them said he puts butter on the bread while it's still in the toaster so it melts on the way up, and the other guy looked at him like he'd just said he kicks dogs for fun. They went at it for a solid 3 minutes and the cashier just kept scanning like nothing was happening. It got me thinking about how we all have these little routines we never really question until someone calls them out. I'm a butter after kind of guy myself, but honestly his reasoning kind of made sense if you think about timing. So where do you all land on this, butter before the pop or after, and does it actually matter or are we all just creatures of habit?
