Am I the only one who thinks a local credit union beats those big cash buyer call centers?
I had two cash offers on my mom's place in Toledo last month, one from a guy who kept saying "we buy houses" like a robot on the phone, and one from a loan officer at a small credit union who actually drove out to look at the roof. The call center offer came in about $7,000 under what the credit union put together, and they wanted a $500 deposit just to hold the number. Has anyone else had a cash deal go sideways because the buyer never even saw the property in person?
