Question about dealing with tricky door frames on older homes
Last week I was doing a bedroom in a 1920s house over in Oak Park. The door frames were all uneven, nothing was square, and I had to cut every piece three times to get it to fit right. It took me almost twice as long as a normal room. I see more of these older homes popping up in our area lately. Do you guys have a go to method for handling those crooked frames without burning up a whole day? I tried using a template last time but it still felt off.

Have you tried shimming the frame itself before measuring your cuts?
