One customer's offhand complaint fixed my seam game

Last month a lady in Toledo told me she could feel every seam in her hallway because the previous installer left gaps you could slide a nickel into. That got me rethinking my own tack strip spacing and how tight I pull the carpet before I even start seaming. I switched to ironing every seam twice with a cooler set and now I walk test each one barefoot before I call it done. Has anyone else picked up a better habit from a random homeowner comment?
