Am I the only one who used to cut stair stringers with a circ saw and a hand chisel?
Back in 2019 I cut every stringer on a two-story deck in Akron by marking it with a framing square and finishing the seat cuts with a chisel and a hammer, which took me about 45 minutes per board and left my forearms wrecked. Then a guy on the crew handed me his worm drive saw and showed me how to overcut just past the line and let the blade do the notch work, and I finished the last eight stringers in a single afternoon. Now I keep wondering what other cuts I'm still doing the hard way, so what's the one job you still do by hand even though there's a faster way sitting right there?
