Bought a $40 Coleman Sundome over a $300 REI tent and honestly the cheap one held up better in a storm
I grabbed a Coleman Sundome for $40 at Walmart in Boise last month and my buddy brought his fancy REI tent that cost him around $300. We got hit with a nasty rainstorm at Redfish Lake and his tent leaked through the seams while mine stayed bone dry all night. His pole also snapped in the wind and we spent 20 minutes taping it back together with duct tape while I just sat there watching. Has anyone else noticed the cheap tents sometimes just plain work better, or did I get lucky with this one?
