PSA: That attic pull cord snapped on me mid-pull in a customer's house last Tuesday
I was running a new drop through a tight attic space over in Oakwood and the old string broke right as I had the cable halfway pulled, leaving me to fish out a new pull line blind through blown insulation for 45 minutes - has anyone found a good trick to avoid busted pull cords in dusty attics?

I mean, that glow-in-the-dark string idea is actually pretty smart. Maybe it's just me but I feel like if you pre-tie a little split ring or small washer to the end of your pull cord it gives you something solid to grab onto instead of just the frayed string. I started doing that after I got burned once and now I always keep a few of those little keychain rings in my pouch just for attic jobs.

Man, that sounds like a brutal way to spend an afternoon. A buddy of mine had the exact same thing happen to him last year and he ended up taping a piece of paracord to a long stick to fish his new line through, which took forever anyway. I think he swore by using a glow-in-the-dark pull string after that mess.
