Can we talk about the guy at Anderson Millwork who said face frames are dead?
I was over at Anderson Millwork last Tuesday picking up some plywood and the older guy running the CNC goes on a rant about how frameless cabinets take half the time with better storage, but my clients keep asking for that traditional shaker look with a face frame every time, so which side is actually winning out in residential work these days?

Aw heck, I had a buddy just run into this. He does high-end kitchens over in Oakmont. Spent three weeks building out a full custom shaker set with face frames for a house built in the 20s. Clients loved it. Then the next job was a modern condo, frameless all the way with soft-close everything. Told me the frameless was way faster on install but the shaker stuff paid twice as much. Guess it depends on whose checkbook you're chasing.

Exactly, @gibson.robert said it's about whose checkbook you're chasing, but frameless isn't just faster, it's smarter for resale since everyone wants that open storage look now. Face frames are holding on because old-school guys can't let go of the past.
