New grinder blade locked up on me mid-shift last Friday
I was breaking down a half beef and the blade on my Hobart just seized halfway through a leg quarter. Has anyone else had trouble with those aftermarket blades not fitting right, or did I just get a bad one?

Maybe check if the arbor hole on that aftermarket blade is slightly undersized compared to the original. I've seen a couple shops shave down the inner diameter with a round file to fix the bind without swapping the whole blade. Could just be a tight tolerance issue from the factory rather than a defective blade though lol.

Huh, that's actually a smart trick with the round file... I remember reading somewhere that blade manufacturers can have slight variations in arbor hole sizes even when they're supposed to be the same. @ivanjones, do you think that's more common on cheaper blades or does it happen across the board? I've heard heat expansion can tighten things up too, like if you run the saw for a bit the metal swells and the blade binds worse. Honestly, sounds like a lot of trial and error just to avoid returning a blade, but maybe worth it if you're stuck in the middle of a project.
