I finally hit 500 straight days of bullet journaling

I started my bullet journal back in January 2023 just to keep track of work deadlines. But then I kept going through vacations, sick days, and even when I didn't feel like it. Last week I counted my daily logs and realized it was 500 days in a row without missing a single entry. That number surprised me because I usually give up on habits after a month or two. Has anyone else tracked their streak or noticed a milestone that caught them off guard?

Stop counting that's the exact opposite of what a journal is for. You're turning a creative outlet into another to-do list that has to be perfect every single day. Missing a day here and there isn't failure it's just life happening. You probably sat there some nights writing "did nothing today" just to keep the number going which is pointless.

Ask @oliver_fisher what they think happens when someone actually wants to track their habits or moods over time. Not everyone journals to be creative, some people use it to spot patterns or hold themselves accountable. And yeah, sometimes writing "did nothing today" is actually useful because it shows you when you're burnt out or stuck in a rut. Journals aren't one size fits all, so why act like your way is the only valid way to use a notebook?
