PSA: My $9 rice cooker died mid-batch and I salvaged 4 days of lunches on the stove
The heating element gave out Tuesday night with 5 cups of soaked jasmine rice sitting in there, so I dumped it in a pot with a lid and finished it on low heat for 18 minutes. Turned out fluffier than the cooker ever did, and now I'm wondering why I ever trusted a $9 appliance with my meal prep. Anyone else switch to stovetop rice and never look back?
