Hot take: watering my snake plant once every 5 weeks made it grow 4 new leaves in 3 months
I used to water my snake plant every Sunday like clockwork because that's what a YouTube guy in Boise said to do. After 8 months it just sat there looking sad, so I got mad and shoved it in a corner and ignored it for over a month. When I finally checked, the soil was bone dry and it had 2 new pups pushing up through the dirt. So I tried a real test, water every 5 weeks and nothing else, and in 3 months it gave me 4 new leaves and one pup. Turns out I was basically drowning the roots the whole time and the plant was surviving in spite of me, not because of me. Do you all go by a calendar or do you just stick a finger in the soil and wing it like I do now?
