Gave up on my fiddle leaf fig, then it doubled in size after 4 months outside
I had this fiddle leaf fig indoors for 2 years and it just sat there, dropping leaves every few weeks. I finally got fed up last May and moved it to my covered porch in Portland, figuring I'd just let nature take over. It got morning sun and rain when it happened, no fussing over watering schedules or misting. Four months later it grew two new branches and the leaves are darker and bigger than anything it ever put out inside. I thought indoor plants just needed more patience, but mine clearly wanted actual weather and airflow. Anyone else had a houseplant respond better to being stuck outside than to all the careful care indoors?
