Struggling with when to use headbands in my bindings
I've bound a few personal journals without headbands to keep it simple. They hold up okay, but I wonder if I'm cutting corners. When do you guys decide to add them?

How can you call it a proper book without them?

You know, that "proper book" thing reminds me of my friend Jess who bought a fancy hardcover without a ribbon bookmark. She kept using old receipts to mark her page and actually lost her spot when the receipt fell out during her commute. She said it felt like the book was unfinished, just waiting for her to lose her place. Makes your point about needing them pretty clear honestly.
