Shoutout to the lady at the estate sale in Boise who sold me a box of old book cloth for $4
I showed up late Saturday thinking everything good was gone, and she had a whole box of 1940s book cloth squares sitting under a table because nobody knew what it was. I got 30 pieces for $4 total, and most of it is still supple enough to wrap covers with a little wheat paste help. Is there a trick to softening old cloth that has gone a bit stiff, or should I just save those pieces for spine linings?
