Saw a bindery setup in a Dublin back room that made me rethink my whole bench
I was in Dublin two weeks ago and wandered into a small bookshop off Grafton Street that had a bindery in the back room. The guy there had his whole setup built into an old wardrobe, maybe 4 feet wide, with the press bolted to a pull-out shelf. What got me was how he stored his thread, wound on 12 empty spools nailed to the inside of the door so he never had to dig in a drawer. I asked him about it and he said he'd been working that way for 6 years because his flat had no room for a real shop. My own bench is a mess of loose spools and I keep losing the one I need mid-signature. Has anyone else built their setup around a small space like that? Curious what you did for storage.
