Ruined a $60 sheet of handmade marbled paper on my last commission, and here's the fix I figured out
I was casing in a rebind of a 1920s poetry collection at my bench in Portland last week when I brushed the paste too thick and the marbled endpaper wrinkled right at the hinge, so I steamed it loose with a damp towel and a warm iron and redid the whole thing with a thinner wheat paste mix, but now I'm wondering if anyone has a go to paste recipe that holds flat on thin papers without soaking through?
