DAE think grain direction on spines is overrated for cheap paperbacks?
I've been rebinding thrift store paperbacks for about 8 months now and I keep seeing people online say you HAVE to match the grain to the spine or the book fights you every time. But honestly on a $3 paperback from Goodwill I've never noticed a real difference, and half the tutorials acting like this is life or death are working with nice leather anyway. Is this one of those things that only matters once you're past a certain level, or am I just not paying close enough attention to my own work?
