Our book club fought over a book's sleep advice, here's what helped

We read a novel pushing crazy sleep tips that got everyone arguing. I printed short articles from real doctors to give our talk solid ground. How do you keep debates friendly when books share bad health ideas?

Oh dude, kinda like when my buddy read some novel that said eating only red foods boosts energy. We just pulled up a few basic articles to joke about it without starting a real fight. He dropped the idea pretty quick after that.

My cousin swears by a book saying you can train yourself to sleep just four hours a night. I did what @the_christopher described and sent her links to sleep foundation pages. Having those expert sources changed the talk from a fight to a simple fact check.

Totally get the "pulled up a few basic articles" move, that's the perfect way to handle it. I had a friend who got super into a podcast saying you should replace breakfast with plain black coffee and a handful of nuts for "peak mental performance." We just sat down and found a couple nutrition websites that explained why your brain needs actual carbs in the morning. Having that third party source, not just my opinion, made it a fact check instead of an argument. It takes the heat off everyone personally.
