Hot take: switching from stick to flux core on my little 110v welder changed my whole trailer repair game
Blew a leaf spring hanger on my 16 foot flatbed about 6 months ago and my old stick welder kept blowing holes in the thin channel. A guy at the supply house in Tulsa told me to try .030 flux core in my little 110v machine and the difference is nuts. Same rusty metal, same guy holding the stinger, but now I can run a bead without chasing holes all over the place. Did a whole gate repair last weekend and my grinder barely got touched. Anyone else run flux core on trailer stuff or am I missing something better for thin steel?
